Heritage of Sliven - captivating and diverse

The project will support the preservation and promotion of Sliven's cultural heritage, will provide an opportunity to present the cultural identity of local ethnic groups and will increase tolerance, understanding and acceptance of different cultural values. The project activities will be carried out to refresh and renovate exhibition spaces, necessary equipment for display of paintings will be purchased, rails for display of paintings and lighting fixtures will be replaced, including 10 showcases with ice lighting, 10 pedestals, tripods for poster display. Two new exhibitions will be organized with young authors from different ethnic groups and restored paintings by Karakachan tube artist Nikola Zarov. A platform for wheelchairs will be installed to provide access for disabled people to the Regional Historical Museum. For them a special space will be created, so that they can "touch" all the exhibits through the prepared videos for each of the five museum sites: house-museum of Hadzhi Dimitar, house-museum of Dobri Chintulov, house-museum Popular Customs in Sliven 19th -20th centuries and the First State Textile Factory on the Balkans, as well as on historical events and personalities from the city. Children's workshops with museum teachers will be organized for educational and educational purposes. Through this project proposal, parts of the interior of Sliven Hall will be renovated, exhibition niches will be formed, which will provide additional spaces and rooms for temporary exhibitions. An atmosphere for meetings with writers and authors, for presentation of their works will be created. Monthly performances of the different cultural ethnic groups that coexist in the region are planned to be organized in the newly furnished foyers of the Sliven Hall. For this purpose, each of the ethnic groups will be given the opportunity to show exhibits, to present their community, way of life and culture with performances, meetings and other events.
