Traditions unite us

The overall objective of the project is: Improvement of transnational cultural cooperation and exchange of good practices between Bulgaria and Norway in the field of promotion of folklore and traditions. Specific objectives: Improvement of access to cultural heritage for young people from small settlements in the South Central Planning Region, including young people from ethnic minorities. Increasing the capacity of the Community Centre "Obedinenie 1913" and 50 community centers in the South Central Planning Region, in the field of attracting audiences and knowledge transfer through training of the Community centres' expert staff to improve their professional competences and skills. Activities: Creation of a project team. Development of a plan to attract new audiences. Conducting project management training, attracting new audiences and organizing a cultural event. Preparation of the performance/spectacle "Traditions unite us". Creation of a children's school for making dolls with traditional costumes and traditional masks. Organization of a traveling exhibition of puppets with folk costumes and outdoor open lessons in making dolls in 10 settlements. Presentation of the show "Traditions unite us" in 10 small settlements in the regions of Kardzhali, Smolyan and Plovdiv. Presentation of the show "Traditions unite us" in Norway. Publicity and project information activities. Expected results: created one new culture product; 1300 people from Bulgaria and Norway attended cultural events presenting traditional folklore in a modern way; improved cultural entrepreneurship capacity; number of trained professional staff - 50 representatives of community centers; organized and conducted travel tour; organized Children's School for Folk Costumes and a traveling exhibition with 100 participants; developed and implemented plan to attract the audience; created a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience; improved cooperation with cultural organizations in Norway.
