Energy efficiency in buildings on the territory of Pernik municipality

Improving the energy efficiency of the building sector is one of the main focuses of the Green Deal for Europe presented by the EC in 2019 and has a key role in achieving the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. A key component to achieving it is improving energy efficiency of the building stock and increasing the share of energy from renewable energy sources (RES). With this project, Pernik Municipality aims to improve the energy efficiency of three municipal buildings, which will reach the norm for buildings with close to zero energy consumption and thus contribute to achieving the main results of the Program: increased production of energy from renewable sources; improved energy efficiency in buildings; increased expert capacity in the field of energy management. For the realization of the above, the project envisages implementation of activities for implementation of energy efficiency measures in three buildings, implementation of construction and author's supervision, project audit, project management, awareness and publicity measures. The project also envisages the exchange of experience and knowledge with a donor partner. The project will be implemented in partnership with an organization from Norway - IDN Research, with the necessary experience in the field of energy efficiency management. As a result of the project implementation the following main results will be achieved: - 2319 t CO2 / g achieved emission savings; - 1965 MWh / y achieved energy savings; - 197,448 EUR / year achieved money savings; The main target group of the project, which will be affected by the effect of the achieved results, are 1061 people - children, students, staff, visiting these buildings daily. All residents of Pernik Municipality will be positively affected by the results of the project, as the measures for increased energy efficiency of public buildings lead to the creation of a better aesthetic and ecological living environment.
