School for a green future

The project "School for a Green Future" aims to raise awareness of students aged 10-17 and teachers from 8 schools in Bulgaria, regarding resource management, waste recycling and the circular economy. The project will examine the attitudes among students and examines the level of their awareness on the topic of waste such as raw materials, separate collection, recycling, etc. The results of the study will be summarized in a report, which will include. recommendations for certain topics.The recommended topics will be included in the Interactive Learning Program, which will be developed within the project. It is planned to study good practices for building skills among adolescents for separate waste collection in school and households, and borrow extracurricular approaches to develop the creative abilities of children through which to participate in the circular economy, applied in donor countries and other European countries. The identified good practices will be described in a report and will serve as a basis for the preparation of a Handbook. Its content will include the overall program for interactive learning. The manual will serve to facilitate teachers' education of students on topics related to environmental protection, other than compulsory curricula. There will be 2 types of training - training of 90 teachers for the implementation of the Interactive Training Program - Interactive training of 960 students in order to increase their knowledge about the benefits of separate waste collection, the meaning of recycling, the nature of the circular economy. 360 children will be covered in 2 types of extracurricular activities.9 bazaar exhibitions and 63 waste collection campaigns for recycling will be organized. 627 attractive containers for separate waste collection will be purchased. Partners in the "School for a Green Future" are 9 schools and 1 NGO. The project lasts 18 months.
