Partnership for adaptation to climate changes

The project "Partnership for Adaptation to Climate Change" has been developed and will be implemented in a broad partnership, including 4 municipalities from Bulgaria-Smolyan, Asenovgrad, Svilengrad and Krushari, Pleiades Bulgaria, a company developing activities in the field of sustainable development and a partner from Norway - University for Science and Technology in Trondheim - The Faculty for Architecture and Design. The project envisages targeted activities to increase the capacity of local authorities to develop and implement programs for adaptation to climate change, to introduce specific measures leading to direct reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as a direct link to EU targets for climate-adapted cities and communities. The project focuses on the needs of municipalities for training and capacity building of employees and implementation of measures for production of electricity and heat from renewable sources and conducting energy efficiency surveys set out in the EE programs of the partner municipalities. At the same time there will be activities for introduction of pilot intelligent energy monitoring system of energy consumption and production in buildings and monitoring of the potential of solar and wind energy, as the acquired knowledge and results will be implemented in new or updated existing programs to promote the use of renewable energy sources ( RES) of the partner municipalities. All activities are carried out in exchange of experience with the partner from Norway, which will contribute to the activities to be implemented by applying good examples and innovations in the implementation of long-term and short-term EE programs and promoting the use of renewable energy sources. sources (RES) and biofuels. The project also includes management, communication and publicity activities and financial audit.
