Sustainable solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation in small municipalities

A project proposal will be implemented by municipality of Chelopech as a beneficent, and partners municipalities Zlatitsa, Mirkovo, Koprivshtitsa together with Ecotech consult and International Development Norway,Norway as a partner from the donor Country, which will jointly implement logically related activities leading to increasing the capacity of Bulgarian municipalities to pursue sustainable policies to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change (CCA). There will be a training of municipal employees to increase their competence for planning mitigation measures and CCA with trainers from Norway with the necessary experience and expertise in this field. An additional seminar will be held by the Norwegian partner with the dissemination of good practices from Norway in the field of adaptation to climate change and the development of local plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to climate change. Within the project there will be developed and implemented 6 pilot and innovative mitigation measures and CCA in the Bulgarian mun., in implementation of their strategic plans and programs.
