Modern learning environment for judges, prosecutors, investigating magistrates and other legal professionals

The project responds to the needs for appropriate learning environment for Bulgarian magistrates and other justice professionals as a prerequisite to efficient implementation of EU law and fundamental rights protection standards. The activities envisaged under the project aim at improved application of EU legal framework by the Bulgarian judiciary, envisioned as a Programme outcome 2, Programme area 21 of the Justice Progamme, Norweigian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. The activity, targetted at strengthenining the Magistrates' forum on human rights is a reflection of the increased capacity of national magistrates to apply EU Law and human rights protection instruments at national level. Development of self-learning resources and an innovative in-work training model and the reinforcement of the human rights forum is a reflection of the modern vision of judicial training in European context integrating it into the working environment. The envisaged use of innovative training formats within the project contributes to the active involvement of the trainees in the learning process and promotes the interaction and exchange of experience among them as an important tool for developing competences in professional environment. Main project target groups are judges, prosecutors, investigating judges, candidates for junior judges, junior prosecutors and junior investigating magistrates, members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), the Chief Inspector and the inspectors of the Inspectorate to the SJC, state enforcement agents, recording judges, judicial and prosecutorial assistants, court clerks, jurors, inspectors in the Inspectorate of the Minister of Justice under the Judicial System Act, other MoJ employees, attorneys, notaries, court assessors, MoI employees, the administration and the controlling authorities in cases, where a specific expertise and exchange of experience are required for effective protection of the fundamental rights and proper application of EU law.
