Integrated measures to improve the inclusion of people living in marginalized communities

Through the implementation of the project "Integrated measures for improved inclusion of people living in marginalized communities" will be created prerequisites for improved social inclusion and empowerment of the roma community in the Municipality of Pernik, which according to GRAO is 5100 people.The planned measures will provide additional support to improve access to social services, education, employment, health and non-discrimination.Through the implementation of the project the efforts of the municipality of Pernik for support and development of the minority communities in the city will be upgraded.The target group of the project are roma and people from other vulnerable groups living in segregated communities,with difficult access to services,inadequate infrastructure,facing extreme poverty,social exclusion and marginalization.The project will develop activities in several main areas,including the introduction of a comprehensive approach aimed at improving the situation of end users,where the same person is provided with at least two types of services from the following sectors: social assistance, education,employment and healthcare,depending on his needs.The planned activities of the project are a reflection of the needs of the target groups, while being based on a survey and public consultations among local communities.For the successful implementation of the project,an effective partnership is envisaged with a local NGO from Bulgaria, which works in the field of roma social inclusion,as well as a non-governmental organization from Norway.The project will achieve improved inclusion and empowerment of roma through the implementation of effective mechanisms for sustainable provision of integrated measures leading to improved social inclusion of target vulnerable communities.The implementation of the project activities will follow the principles of good governance, sustainable development,long-term economic growth,social cohesion and environmental protection.
