Providing a hot lunch in the conditions of a pandemic of COVID-19 on the territory of the Municipality of Plovdiv

This project proposal is aimed at providing support for the most vulnerable groups of the population through the provision of food aid, as a social service to the community. Through its implementation 2 700 persons will be covered on the territory of the city of Plovdiv by the permissible target group, which due to various socio-economic reasons, are at risk (persons without income or with low income below the poverty line - people in difficulty due to the deteriorating economic situation in the country, people who due to their age or disability are at higher risk of infection and adverse infection; persons subject to social assistance, for whom the need for additional support has been identified and in the conditions of an emergency epidemic situation are unable to meet their basic living needs) in the conditions of the announced epidemiological situation in the Republic of Bulgaria, arising from the need to limit the spread of COVID-19 . The project proposal will be implemented through procurement for the service of providing food aid for the users of a service provider. The same will be selected in compliance with the provisions of Public procurement law. The selected contractor will be responsible for the overall implementation of the service, including purchasing, preparation and supply of food in the form of a hot lunch for persons from the target group. The service will be available to users in the six administrative districts of the city of Plovdiv, in premises provided by the selected service provider, fulfilling the terms of Food law. The provision of food aid, in the form of food rations for the persons in need, will be carried out over a period of 4 months (01.01.2021 to 27.04.2021).The total value of the implementation of the activities is 649 539 lv. The main activities of the project will be complemented by measures on information and publicity to ensure maximum transparency and adequate awareness of the target groups and stakeholders.
